Middleton
Lodge is one of the most charming private country houses
in the UK. Set in 250 acres of North Yorkshire country parkland,
it was built in 1780 by architect John Carr of York. The lodge is
an impressive Georgian mansion, and has been home to the Allison
family for over 30 years. The house definitely has the feel of a
private house, with character features including an entrance hallway
and stunning central atrium with sweeping staircase, providing wonderful
opportunities for wedding photography.
Middleton
Lodge certainly has the grand feeling of some of the more historic
country house hotels, while retaining a more family feel, which
is perfect perfect for weddings. In a quiet moment you can look
over the beautiful grounds and rooms, and just for a second dream
that it's all yours. As the house is situated very close to Scotch
Corner, Middleton Lodge is also a very convenient place
to get to.
Rachel and Iain's wedding was a very social occasion. It featured
one of the funniest and most inventive best man's speeches I have
ever heard (and photographed) which fixated primarily on the groom's
nose. Harsh as this sound it was in fact the opposite, bordering
on almost tender. They clearly had a fantastic day, which showed
in the photography) and seemed to remain serene and smiley throughout.
Good Times!
